The ODU I/O Psychology Student Association (IOPSA) exists to help I/O graduate students gain opportunities to further their careers in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. We are a recognized student organization at ODU, and our faculty advisor is Dr. Jim Bliss.

We currently have 4 main areas of interest:

  • Recruiting and Growth (coordinator: Matt Loesch)
    • Add members to the organization through recruiting current graduate students who don't know about IOPSA, or who aren't I/O declared but have an interest in the field
    • Discuss the benefits of the program to prospective undergraduates
  • Professional Enhancement (coordinator: Open)
    • Develop research collaborations among members
    • Provide practical experiences, as available, in the field for members
  • Social Events and Networking (coordinator: Open)
    • Create opportunities for members to network with alumni and with professionals in the field
    • Produce social programming for members to get to know each other better outside of school
  • Alumni Relations (coordinators: Kurt Oborn, Sharyn Aufenanger)
    • Maintain connections with alumni of the I/O program to enhance the experience of the current students
    • Solicit input from alumni on ways to improve the organization

Our Member List is available. Please don't hesitate to get in touch with any of us if you have questions about ODU, I/O Psychology, or IOPSA.

The best way to get in touch with us is to Join our Yahoo Group. This group is how most events are planned and how most discussion occurs among our members. If you have any questions about the group in general, please contact the current Chief Executor, Greg Leffler.

Below is a photo taken at our most recent IOPSA meeting. If you see any of us on campus, feel free to stop and ask about the program or the organization! More information about the program is available at the ODU web page.
